To save money and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, I like to avoid driving my car unless I have to. For me to make a special trip to walk in a park, it has to be a fairly wonderful park.
I tend to relieve stress by walking to the grocery store and carrying my stuff home in a backpack. I try not to use my car on weekends.
I think global warming has to be taken seriously. Biking to a park, great. Driving to a park? I try to avoid it.
I can't recall the last time I've been to a county park. I expect I will vote no on this measure.

This sales tax supports your local municipal parks -- there is doubtlessly one within walking distance of your home.
County parks will certainly benefit, but city parks will share in the largesse. I think we can all agree that a well-maintained park with working facilities benefits us all.

Measure A will provide for all parks in the County, not to be confused with ONLY County Parks (which will also benefit). Neighborhood parks, country parks and everything in between. A dedicated funding source will ensure nicer parks for our future, and nicer parks mean nicer neighborhoods, better property values, etc. Thank you for reading this.

Dedicated funding for our parks is something San Mateo County has needed for years. Various funding sources always seem to get diverted to other uses, and our parks suffer.
As I read it, this Measure would not only provide funding for our county parks, it would also provide funding for city parks - also desperately needed.
At something like $18/household per year, this is a no-brainer. I'm voting YES on A.
