Alpine Menlo Pumas win Silicon Valley Cup

The Alpine Menlo Pumas won the Girls Under-14 Division of the Silicon Valley Cup over Labor Day weekend. The Pumas are coached by former professional players Christina Bell Gilmore and her husband, Cris Gilmore.

During the tournament the team had five wins, one loss, and scored 14 goals. The Pumas are part of the Alpine Menlo Soccer Club, made up of 13 teams with players from Portola Valley, Woodside and surrounding communities.

The club will hold tryouts for the 2007 season beginning Nov. 12 and continuing until Dec. 10. For tryout times and locations, go to Web Link
