Itís Time for Some Straight Answers. Is Allied Arts Being Sold?

Original post made by A Concerned Arbor Road Neighbor, Menlo Park: Allied Arts/Stanford Park, on Jul 17, 2007

My girlfriend works in real estate in San Francisco, and she gave me some very disturbing news. A number of banks and real estate firms in the city have been approached regarding the sale of a property in Menlo Park, a property that sounds a lot like Allied Arts. It's described as a large parcel with a number of renovated buildings, off-street parking, and is located on a creek in an upscale residential neighborhood. There is reported to be strong interest from a number of developers, some residential home groups, and a sanitarium of some sort. Facts are scarce, the identity of the property is closely held, and no one seems to be talking.

I haven't been to Allied Arts in eons, but given what I've heard, I'd bet that the handwriting on the wall uses indelible ink. I suggest you drive by the hideous micro-mansions that are emerging from the dust in the 100 block of Linfield if you want to get a preview of the future of the Allied Arts neighborhood.

Allied Arts is not for sale. Period. The shops are open, the garden is lovely, a new restaurant is coming soon.
