Menlo council nixes adding 9 full-time planners

The easy question was whether Menlo Park needs more planning staff. The consensus was yes, given the number of incoming projects — at least 35 — expected during the next five years. The hard question was how to fulfill that need.

Alex McIntyre, the former city manager of Lake Oswego, had a troubled relationship with that council. He seems more interested in building empires than serving the people in a cost efficient and effective way.

Menlo Park made a mistake when it hired him and it should really look for a replacement.

What we really need for city manager is someone who thinks like Henry Riggs.

Menlo Park citizens were brought into the vetting process. This was a public process, and during this process, "a person that "thinks like Henry Riggs" was never proposed, not even by Henry Riggs. Any person that feels threatened by anonymous posts is not qualified to manage a lemonade stand.
