County names new environmental health director

Heather Forshey will join the San Mateo County Health System on March 24 as the new director of environmental health.

With 18 years of experience, Ms. Forshey most recently served as deputy director of environmental health in Santa Clara County, with oversight of food and drinking water safety, childhood lead prevention, and tobacco retailing. She currently serves as an advisory council member for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.

Ms. Foshey earned a master of science in environmental health from East Carolina University, a bachelor of science from Purdue University, and is a registered environmental health specialist with the state of California.
