Art for Lean Times

Menlo Park artist Donald Wallace is showing representational and abstract works in acrylic media at the entrance lobby of the Menlo Park Library at 800 Alma St.

Subjects are derived from varied sources, including classical antiquity, the Italian Renaissance, and contemporary China and America.

All are painted on the humblest of surfaces: a cardboard cereal box.

The exhibition runs through June. Library hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Tuesdays, noon to 9 p.m.; Thursdays and Fridays, 10 to 6; Saturdays, 10 to 5; and Sundays, noon to 5
