A mountain lion was spotted near a golf course in unincorporated San Mateo County near Woodside on Friday afternoon, Feb. 4, according to San Mateo County officials.

The animal was spotted at about 1:25 p.m. near the Elks Lodge at the Emerald Hills Golf Course at 938 Wilmington Way, officials said.
