County commission seeks applicants

The Commission on the Status of Women in San Mateo County is seeking applicants for 2011. Application deadline is Jan. 15. Both women and men are welcome to apply.

The commission is a non-partisan, appointed body that advises the county Board of Supervisors. It includes 15 adults and two youth.

Applicants must reside in San Mateo County and be 18 or older; the two youth positions are filled.

The term is for four years. Commissioners are appointed by the Board of Supervisors following submission of a written application and an interview.

The commission meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 455 County Center in Redwood City.

For an application, call Marie Peterson, deputy clerk of the Board of Supervisors, at 363-4123.
