Menlo School's Upper School drama department will present this week a comedy version of the story in the Hitchcock film, "The 39 Steps."

The play by the same name will be staged Thursday and Friday, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at Florence Moore Auditorium at Menlo School, 50 Valparaiso Ave. in Atherton.

In "The 39 Steps," Richard Hannay becomes involved in a secret-agent plot to prevent critical information from leaving the country. In the play, mishaps and crazy characters make this a comedy for the whole family.
