Today in Woodside: The real Downton Abbey
|
DiAnn Ellis, professor emerita at San Francisco State University, will give an illustrated lecture on "Downton Abbey Culture in Ninety Minutes" at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Woodside Library.
Professor Ellis says she will cover everything from the real Highclere Castle where the PBS series was filmed, to the Charles Worth of Paris gowns, to the real work day of those in service.
There will be a period for questions, tea and cookies at the close of the program.
Woodside Library is at 3140 Woodside Road in Woodside. Call 650-851-0147 for more information.
