Man was sitting in his parked car on Addison Avenue when he was shot, police say

Bookmark and Share
A Menlo Park man was wounded in a shooting in East Palo Alto Sunday night, Nov. 25.

Officers were called around 8:15 p.m. Sunday after the city's ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alerted them to shots fired in the 2200 block of Addison Avenue, police said.

Police arriving on the scene located the victim, a 49-year-old man, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his extremities. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated. An update on his condition was not immediately available.

According to police, the man was shot while sitting in his parked vehicle. Investigators believe that one or more suspects may have approached the vehicle on foot and shot the man, then fled immediately, police said.

Anyone with any information about the shooting is urged to contact police at 650-321-1112. Those wishing to remain anonymous may leave a tip by voice mail or text via cell phone at 650-409-6792 or via email at epa@tipnow.org.
