Man, house struck by gunfire

Bookmark and Share
A 26-year-old man was injured and a house was struck by gunfire during East Palo Alto's second shooting on Wednesday night, according to police.

Police were alerted to the shooting by a 911 call, as well as the city's ShotSpotter system that indicated multiple gunshots fired at 8:56 p.m. in the 2500 block of Farrington Way, less than a block from the East Palo Alto Public Library.

Upon arrival at the scene of the shooting, police located a 26-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his left leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition, police said.

Police said a house had also been struck by gunfire.

The shooting was reported less than a mile from a shooting that occurred earlier Wednesday night in East Palo Alto, which injured a Daly City man in a residential neighborhood. Officers received a report of the shooting in the 1700 block of Tulane Avenue at about 5 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, police located evidence that a shooting had occurred, but did not find any victims or suspects in the vicinity.

A local hospital notified police of a 28-year-old Daly City man who had walked into the hospital seeking treatment for gunshot wounds at about the same time. Police made contact with the victim, who received treatment for two apparent gunshot wounds to his lower body. The victim is listed in stable condition, police said.

East Palo Alto police are working to identify suspects in the incidents. Anyone with information regarding either shooting is asked to contact East Palo Alto police at (650) 321-1112. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can email epa@tipnow.org or text or leave a voicemail at (650) 409-6792.
