A northbound train fatally struck a man on the tracks in Palo Alto early this morning.
The train collision occurred near Charleston Avenue in Palo Alto at about 5:35 a.m., resulting in both north and southbound tracks being closed while investigators were on scene, according to Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn.
The train that struck the man, northbound train 103, had 55 passengers on board. No injuries to passengers or crew members have been reported, Ms. Dunn said.
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is providing a bus bridge between the Palo Alto and San Antonio stations.
Caltrain passengers can expect major delays throughout the morning commute.
