Atherton police seek info on Melanie Lane burglary

Atherton police are looking for witnesses who might have information about a burglary on Melanie Lane Thursday afternoon, July 31.

Jewelry was taken from a master bedroom and other rooms were ransacked but nothing seems to be missing from them, police say.

The burglary took place between 2 and 6:30 p.m., and there are no signs of forced entry, police say, adding that entry may have been via an unlocked door in the back of the home.

Police are seeking surveillance camera footage that may have captured activity on Melanie Lane or information from anyone who may have seen unusual activity in the area Thursday afternoon. They ask residents to seek information from anyone visiting their property during that time.

Call the Atherton Police Department at (650)688-6500 with any information.
