Woodside: Section of Highway 84 closed after crash

A car crash on state Highway 84 in Woodside this morning (July 21) knocked down a power pole and shut down both sides of the roadway, according to a San Mateo County sheriff's spokeswoman.

The crash was reported around 9:45 a.m. on eastbound Highway 84 near Grandview Drive, according to sheriff's Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt.

A car plowed into a PG&E pole, causing the pole to fall across the roadway.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

The downed pole has shut down both directions of Highway 84 from state Highway 35 to just south of Grandview Drive, Rosenblatt said.

The roadway was reopened around 7 p.m.
