In business: Portola Valley salon holds open house June 25

Virtual Image Salon in Portola Valley is holding an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, to celebrate its remodeling and invite the public to meet its new stylists.

"The previous owner, Midge Huntington, died early this year and her husband, Charlie, asked me to run the business," said Barbara Tallon, the new manager. "The Jellich family, who are the owners of the building, have been very generous and helpful with our remodel."

The salon, located at 104 Portola Road, has a "fresh, new, modern look," she said. There are five hair stylists, a manicurist, and an esthetician for facials and massages.

New clients who come to the open house can ask for a 50 percent discount on their first appointment for their choice of a haircut and style, manicure, or facial, she said.

At the open house, there will be food, drink and a drawing, Ms. Tallon said.
