Police ask for help in locating scene of fatal shooting

A 16-year-old East Palo Alto boy died of a gunshot wound early Friday morning in a Redwood City hospital and police are asking the public for help in determining where and when he was shot.

Police were called to Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City around 12:20 Friday morning on a report of a gunshot victim with a wound to the upper torso, according to Lt. Sean Hart.

The boy died shortly after arriving at the hospital, Hart said.

The location where the shooting occurred and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unknown at this time.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Josh Chilton at (650) 780-7141, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477 if they wish to leave an anonymous tip. Those providing information could be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers.

This is very sad. A young life cut short, a child dumped like garbage to die alone. 16 year olds look like adults but have the decisionmaking capacity of adolescents. Some adult dropped the ball and this child ended up there.

EPAMom,

You know it might have taken a brave act to get him to the Hospital. Very sorry for the loss of a child's life.

Lets get this information brought forward.

Someone with a gun thinks they're a bigshot.
