Tonight: Open space board meets on 'vision plan'

The Board of Directors of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District will meet tonight (Jan. 14) to discuss the district's vision plan for the next 20 to 40 years.

The public is invited to the meeting, which starts at 6 p.m. at the Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave. in Los Altos.

Over the past 16 months, the district has gathered public comment on the vision plan through a number of meetings and on its website. Two thousands members of the public have participated in the process, according to the district.

An analysis of the public's comments and priorities will be presented at the Los Altos meeting. Some of the priorities are: increased access for hiking and recreation, connections between open space lands, and continued environmental stewardship, the district said.
