Mental health and law enforcement professionals, along with clients, are attending a two-day conference on crisis intervention starting today (Jan. 9).
San Mateo County as well as the National Alliance on Mental illness and the California CIT Association is hosting the conference at the College of San Mateo, according to the Sheriff's Office. Presenters from around the state will discuss topics ranging from suicide and school violence to veterans' psychological health.
The event is not open to the public. Organizers said in a press release that "the hope (is) that those in attendance will return home with the motivation and drive to develop and sustain crisis intervention programs where they work."
