Portola Valley: Winter hours set for farmers' market

When the Portola Valley Town Council approved a year-long trial for a farmers' market in July, the weather was warm, but the council's vision included an option for staff and market management to continue the market through the winter.

That option has been taken. The market, which is open year-round, sets up as usual on Thursdays in the parking lot of the Historic Schoolhouse at 765 Portola Road, but earlier. In recognition of the shorter days, the market opens at 2 p.m. and closes at 5.
