Belle Haven Pool will host the Menlo Masters and the Belle Haven aquatic community for a Menlo United celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at 100 Terminal Ave. in Menlo Park.
There will be water games, relays, music and food, with an admission charge of just $1.
Menlo Unido/Menlo United is a joint effort by the Menlo Masters (a swimming fitness program for adults) and the Belle Haven aquatic community, led by Brenda Villa, a five-time Olympic water polo player and gold medalist.
Villa is the head of aquatic outreach for Menlo Swim and Sport, which operates swim programs at Belle Haven Pool and Burgess Pool.
Villa, who won gold at the 2012 London Olympics with the USA women's water polo team, is in charge of the Menlo Mavericks girls' water polo program at Belle Haven Pool, which has 12-and-under and 14-and-under beginning and intermediate teams. Click here for more information (PDF).
