The Kiwanis Club of Menlo Park has established a program allowing families to honor their mother on Mother's Day through donations to save mothers and their newborn babies from suffering from neonatal tetanus.
Kiwanis International and UNICEF have teamed up to wipe out neonatal tetanus through the Eliminate Project, whose goal is to give immunization shots to 61 million at-risk women of childbearing age in undeveloped counties.
Through Mother's Day, anyone may make a donation to the project to honor a mother and the honoree will receive an acknowledgment card. Donations should be sent to the Menlo Park Kiwanis Foundation. P.O. Box 322, Menlo Park CA 94026, with Eliminate Project designated as recipient and the name and mailing address of the person to be honored.
