Net Zero Energy Home Tour & Electric Vehicle Tryout
Community members can tour a Platinum LEED, Net Zero Energy Passive Home, as well as try driving a few electric vehicles during this Project Green Home event. May 29, 2-6 p.m. Free. Project Green Home, 314 Stanford Ave. , Palo Alto.

Used motor oil filter exchange
At this event at AutoZone in Redwood City, community members can bring used motor oil and oil filters for recycling, as well as receive a new filter for free. San Mateo County Environmental Health staff will be on hand to provide information about auto product recycling, and Radio KBRG will broadcast live. May 30, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Free. Old Mountain View Tree Walk
This tree walk led by Katherine Naegele, co-chair of Mountain View Trees and an ISA certified arborist, will lead a walk through the Old Mountain View neighborhood, where there are a variety of mature trees and species. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome, and refreshments will be provided. May 30, 10-11:30 a.m. Free (donations appreciated). Mercy-Bush Park, Bush and Mercy streets, Mountain View.

To encourage repairing rather than replacing, the Repair Café in Palo Alto will welcome community members who need assistance fixing broken household items, including small appliances, lamps, bicycles, computers, clothing, jewelry, toys, clocks and more. World Oceans Day Discovery Ecovoyages
The Marine Science Institute will offer of its Discovery Ecovoyages on its boat, during which children and adults can learn about the San Francisco Bay's fish, plankton and ecosystem.
